Studio Polices
General Polices
-
Dream Dance has a zero tolerance harassment policy. We do not tolerate bullying in any way shape or form, this includes online bullying.
-
Our primary method of contacting families is through email updates. Please make sure you have an email address on file with us to receive important notices, such as weather related closures and our monthly newsletter.
-
Parents are permitted to watch at any time through viewing windows. However, if you notice your child getting distracted by your presence we ask that you please wait in our comfortable reception area.
-
Generally, we do not permit parents into the classroom, unless it is a special occasion or a performance. It helps keep the students focused and to limit the distractions that happen in the classroom.
-
In the upper level classes students may be asked to watch class if they are more than 10 minutes late. At this point the student may have missed the majority of the warm-up and therefore it would be dangerous to their health to allow them to dance in that class period. Students will be given a handout to fill out during class if this occurs.
-
Older students will be asked to keep their cell phones silent and in their dance bags during class time.
-
Feel free to run errands while your student is in class. Please make sure your cell phone number is on file with the office staff to ensure that we can get a hold of you if we need to.
-
Students must be potty trained before they are permitted in our Mini Level classes.
-
No gum or food is permitted in the dance classroom. Water bottles with lids are permitted.
-
No street shoes are permitted in the dance classroom to keep our facility clean and rock free, please reference our dress code for information on which dance shoes are appropriate for our various classes.
-
Students should be picked up from the Dream Dance Studios reception area. For the safety of our students we ask that they do not leave Dream Dance Studios without authorized adult supervision.
-
If a friend or relative will be picking-up a student for the first time, please inform a member of the staff.
-
Students must be picked up timely after class. We do not have designated staff to watch students that are not in class. Please call the studio if you plan on being more than five minutes late to pick-up students under the age of 12.
-
If you are more than 10 minutes late to pick up your student you will receive a warning. If you continue to pick your student up late you will be assessed a fee of $10 per half an hour (or any portion thereof) for babysitting your student after class.
Missed Class Policies
Make-up classes are permitted when a student is unable to attend class. It is best if you call in and let the studio know that your student will not be at class.
-
Make Up classes will be completed within one month of the original missed class. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED
-
We do not offer additional classes for when we are closed for the holidays. Your student may make up their missed time with a class that is already in session. We do not offer make up classes for Winter Break or Spring Break. These weeks are not included in our 42 week school year session for tuition purposes. Therefore no make-ups will be offered for these closures.
-
We DO NOT PRO-RATE tuition for missed classes UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Please see the Payment Policies for more information on Tuition.
PAYMENT POLICIES
-
WE DO NOT PRO-RATE TUITION ( except for the first month that your child enrolls in class if it is mid-month and August tuition).
-
We base our tuition rates on 42 class weeks in the year. FULL JUNE TUITION is due based on this calculation. Extra practices for recital may take place in June.
-
Tuition is due by the 8th of each month. A $20 late fee may be applied to any account that is not paid by this date.
-
A $35 dollar fee will be assessed for all returned checks.
-
Tuition is not prorated if your student misses a class, please see your instructor or Dream Dance staff for make-up class suggestions.
-
If tuition/fees are not paid by the 20th of the month and prior arrangements have not been made the student will not be permitted to attend class.
-
Tuition will be charged monthly August-June unless you notify Dream Dance Studios prior to the 15th of the month prior to your dancer dropping a class. We hold a spot for your dancer and unless notified of a change will charge tuition.
Performance Policies
-
Accounts that are not paid in full prior to recital will not be allowed to perform.
-
Students are not required to participate in the June Recital but it is highly encouraged. It is a very fun experience that allows the student to show off what they learned during their class and support their friends.
-
There will be a dress rehearsal for the June Recital. THIS REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY.
-
Students must attend class the two weeks prior to recital. The instructor has the right to refuse the student's participation in recital if they do not attend class the two weeks prior to recital.
-
Costume Fees must be paid in full prior to February 1st.
