Art of the Dance

If you have driven through downtown Denver, you’ve likely seen the big white alien looking sculpture outside the Denver Convention Center. Did you know that that sculpture is actually titled “the Dancers”? Inspired by the art of the dance, these sculptures are a recent addition to a long colorful history of dance serving as inspiration to artists. Perhaps the most famous example of dance in art, is the sculptures and paintings of Edgar Degas who was working in Paris in the late 19th century. We've compiled some examples of our favorite dance artwork below. Have you seen other dance inspired artwork around Denver? Let us know in the comments!
