Hello Dream Families!

We are so close to the end of school, dancers, you can do it! Finish strong! As a reminder, we have sent out all links to routine videos and music as well as our official recital packet which answers any questions you could have about recital! Make sure you have access to both, if not talk to Isa at the front desk!

IMPORTANT DATES THIS SEMESTER:

Monday May 29th is Memorial Day, so the studio will be closed Monday the 29th and Saturday the 27th

Spring Recital shows will be held all day Saturday, June 10th, in the evening Friday, June 9th, with a mandatory dress rehearsal on Thursday, June 8th so make sure to mark your calendars!

Classes will continue to be held until June 24th!

Summer Camps!

Summer Camps are coming up! These camps are a great chance to make friends, learn new dance styles, and have a blast!

This year we are also offering a whole new style of dance - never before seen at Dream Dance Studios - Baton twirling! Our current front office staff member Isa will be leading a few specialty baton camps this summer and you do not want to miss out!

*In order for a camp to run we need at least four registrations by the friday before the camp*

Registration for Fall 2023

Registration for the Fall 2023 will open early June!! We are super stoked to see all your smiling faces and all your dancer’s twinkling toes this fall, so make sure to register early to ensure you can get the classes you would like! We will be handing out level & class recommendations to all students at the throughout May so please keep a lookout!

** Is there a class you’d like to see this fall? Please help let us know by filling out the below survey!**

Recital Reminders!

Recital is just a few short months away so here are some updates and reminders so you and your dancers are prepared! We have sent out the recital packet that should answer any questions about tickets, timing, and apparel.

LOCATION: Warren Tech West Campus

DATES: June 8th - 10th

COSTUMES

As we get closer to recital, here are some good reminders for when you are given your dancer’s/your costume.

  1. You only get ONE Costume - take care of it! It cannot be replaced!

  2. Hang it up in a safe place so it does not get wrinkles before the show!

  3. Please, Do Not wear your costume until picture day or the day of recital!

TICKETS

All families can have 4 tickets per show their child is dancing in for the initial purchasing phase. We hold two presentations of each show so you can choose to only attend one (they will both be the same, we suggest this option!) and buy all four to that presentation, or you may split it between the two presentations. If your dancer is in two shows, or you have siblings who are in different shows, you may purchase 4 tickets to each show, not each showing.

After the initial ticketing, which we use to ensure all families have an opportunity to get tickets, we release all restrictions and you may buy as many tickets to as many shows as you would like. This will occur on May 24th so make sure to reserve your initial 4 before that to ensure you can see your dancer!

Store Updates!

We are now selling Ballet, Tap, and Contemporary shoes! Additionally we have added tights in all sizes in both tan and ballet pink! Make sure you have all the proper gear for the upcoming recital, including the right colored shoes and tights!

With recital right around the corner make sure all of your gear is in good condition!

Teacher and Staff Highlight!

Each month, we will do a teacher or staff highlight so you can get to know our studio’s team better! For the month of May we had the pleasure of getting to know Miss Isa.

Q: What got you into dance?

A:I started in gymnastics and then moved to baton twirling, tumbling, and ballet and just fell in love!

Q: What is your favorite style of dance and why?

A: My favorite dance style to watch is Lyrical but my favorite to perform is baton twirling in a jazz style

Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t at Dream Dance Studios?

A: I am a full time student and Mines so a lot of time goes to school! Outside of that I love to go on walks with my dog, coach my baton team, and tutor K-12 in STEM!

Q: What dance advice would you give your younger self?

A: To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,

and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

It's a quote from Larson’s “Promise Yourself” Poem

Q: What’s something most people wouldn’t guess by looking at you?

A: I am a black belt in Taekwondo!

Miss Isa will be teaching some of our summer camps this year in addition to working the front desk- like what you read! Sign up for some summer camps and learn even more!
