May 2018 NEWSLETTER

Flowers are blooming and Recital preparations are in full swing! Attached to this month’s News Letter is the Recital Information Packet with all the important details, so please make sure to read through and keep all Dream Dance emails!

Important Dates:

Dance Team Informational Meeting: May 16th from 6:30-7:30

Closed Memorial Day: May 28th, In observation of the holiday

Recital Prep Week/Picture week: June 11th – 14th

Clear your calendars!! The week before recital will have a modified schedule which will allow students to take class and individual pictures and enjoy dances from some other classes! Students will need to come in costume to rehearse. PLEASE READ THE RECITAL PACKET FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Recital Dress Rehearsal -June 15th Show 1: 4p.m Arrive at 3:30pm Show 2: 6.pm Arrive at 5:30.

If you are unsure what show you are in, please see the recital packet.

Recital - June 16th Show 1: 4p.m Arrive at 3:30pm Show 2: 6.pm Arrive at 5:30.

Recital will be held at Chatfield High School. Tickets will need to be purchased for recital. Please see the recital packet.

SUMMER CAMPS!

Our Summer Camps allow Dance Families to pick the weeks over break they will be free, making them a great way to keep kids excited about dance and still find time to: head out of town, plan other activities, or relax over the school break! (And they provide some time for parents to do their own thing too). Camps run Monday-Thursday and a variety are offered each week from June 18ththrough August 2nd.

Don’t miss out, 10% off all summer camps if you register before May 31st as well as discounts for students taking 3 or more camps!!!

Interested in Dance Team?

Is your dancer interested in being a part of one of our dance teams? Come to our parent informational meeting to find out what dance team is all about! Dancers need to be 9 or older to participate, but exceptions may be made for students slightly younger with approval from Ms. Megan. The parent meeting for the 2018-2019 school year will be on May 16th from 6:30-7:30. Save the date!

Studio Happenings

Our second studio is now open, come take a look at the new space next time you are here!

Next year we will be able to offer twice the number of classes, so be on the look-out for the Fall 2018 schedule!

Costumes are being handed out this month for all students participating in the recital! Make sure your dancer gets his/hers and keeps them in a safe place.

Lost and Found- please check out the lost and found because we will be donating all unclaimed items May 20th.

Community Events

May 5, 2018 – The Gift of Dance

Starts at 6p.m. Cost: $10

The Broomfield Auditorium presents a student choreography showcase by the Live Love Dance Company Dancers ages 13 to 15. All proceeds from the evening go to The Gift of Dance Scholarship Fund which provides dance costumes, shoes and attire to children in need.

May 12, 2018 - Free Family Tour of Clyfford Still Museum

10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Enjoy a free art adventure for the whole family! Designed for children five through ten years old and their caregivers. Family tours are an interactive way to explore the art on view. Every tour features games, close looking, and an art project to take home. Our professional team of gallery teachers will introduce a different theme–such as color, line, shape, movement, music, or architecture–in every tour.

May 19, 2018 – Free ArtWalk in Longmont 2018

Starts at 4:00 pm.

ArtWalk Longmont is a spring festival event in Downtown Longmont. A free street festival featuring live music at four stages, interactive arts exhibits and activities, and more. Supported by SCFD, LDDA, City of Longmont, and numerous local sponsors.

May 26, 2018 – Free Rocky Mountain Miniature Horse Show

Starts at 9 a.m.

34th Annual Rocky Mountain Classic Miniature Horse Show at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont, CO. The show includes a variety of classes for miniature horses, including: Hunter, Jumper, Showmanship, Driving, Liberty, Versatility, Halter.
