New Year's Resolution

As we start the new year, it’s a common trend to set a New Years resolution. A resolution for many is to get more exercise and improve our physical health, but traditional gyms can be intimidating and crowded. Why not try dance as a fun alternative?

Besides the obvious health benefits like increased mobility, balance, coordination, and blood circulation there are also mental, emotional, and social benefits associated with dance. In adolescent females, a regular dance class positively impacted their mental health. “A study by the American Medical Association found that adolescent girls had more positive thoughts and felt more confidence after dancing. They reported better feelings about their overall health after participating in structured dance classes that focused on enjoying movement rather than perfection and performance.”

Unlike traditional gyms dance is a form of exercise that can be done anywhere, anytime. No weights or equipment required just you, your body, and some music to get you moving! It can be done at any age, or physical range. Plus, with the numerous different styles you’re sure to find one that fits your unique personality. Here at Dream Dance Studios we offer Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and more! Check out our studio and drop in for a class!
